An edgebanding machine is a specialised woodworking machine designed to apply edge banding material to panel edges with precision and consistency. Our edgebanding machines automatically apply adhesive, attach the edge banding material, trim excess, scrape, and buff the edge to create a seamless, professional finish. The panel is fed through the machine at controlled speeds while multiple processing stations complete the edgebanding sequence.
Manual edgebanders require operator control throughout the process, semi-automatic machines offer automated trimming and finishing functions, whilst fully automatic edgebanders handle the entire process from glue application through to final buffing with minimal operator intervention. Our KDT Series of Edge Banding machines offer varying levels of automation to suit different production requirements and budgets.
Our edgebanding machine range caters to workshops of all sizes. Whether you're a small cabinet maker producing custom pieces or running a large-scale manufacturing facility, we have models designed to enhance your finishing capabilities and improve production efficiency. The key to selecting the right edgebanding model for your production volume, panel sizes, and edge banding material requirements. For more information read our blog post on Choosing the Right Edgebander for your workshop.
Our edgebanding machines can process a wide variety of edge banding materials including PVC, ABS, acrylic, wood veneer and melamine. Material thickness ranges vary by model, but our machines typically handle edge banding from 0.4mm up to 3mm thickness and board widths from 10mm to 65mm.
Panel thickness capacity varies by model, but our standard edgebanders handle panels from 10mm to 60mm thick. Because you are sending the board through one end and out the other the length of the board can be virtually as long as you need it to be. Minimum panel dimensions are typically 120mm x 120mm, making them suitable for most cabinet and furniture components.
Our edgebanders offer variable feed speeds with three speed settings up to 23 metres per minute, providing flexibility for different materials and quality requirements. The KDT advanced edgebanders feature higher speed capabilities for increased productivity in high-volume operations. Feed speed selection depends on material type, adhesive curing requirements, and whether you are corner rounding or straight edge banding..
There are 3 main types .EVA (Ethylene Vinyl Acetate) adhesive systems are the most common, offering fast set times and easy application. PUR (Polyurethane Reactive) adhesive systems provide superior bond strength, moisture resistance, and heat resistance, making them ideal for demanding applications and Australian climate conditions. Laser adhesive systems offer zero glue lines and have similar qualities to PUR but without the glue maintenance procedures. Whilst Laser tape can be more expensive, the instant start up, zero glue lines and zero glue maintenance, coupled with excellent holding power in demanding climate conditions make it a great choice for companies wanting to go to the next level. All our machines can be configured for either adhesive type, however the laser model is a specialist machine. We provide guidance on the best choice for your applications. For more information read our blog post on Choosing the Right Edgebanding Glue.
Premilling is the process of machining the panel edge before edgebanding to ensure a perfectly flat, square surface for optimal adhesive bonding. This feature is particularly important when working with laminated panels, moisture-affected boards, or when maximum bond strength is required. All our Premill edgebanders feature diamond twin motor premilling technology for superior edge preparation.
Yes, our advanced edgebanders feature corner rounding functions that create smooth, professional radius corners on both top and bottom edges. This is essential for modern furniture design and provides a premium finished appearance. Corner rounding radius is adjustable to suit different design requirements. For more information read our blog post on How Many Motors Do You Need for Your Edgebander Corner Rounding?

Knife life depends on production volume, material types being processed, and the presence of abrasive materials. Typically, quality TCT (Tungsten Carbide Tipped) trimming knives provide several months of service in normal production environments. We recommend monitoring edge quality and replacing knives when you notice increased tear-out or rough edges. Our service team can advise on optimal replacement schedules for your specific applications.
Our edgebanding machines require a clean, dry compressed air supply, typically 6-8 bar (90-115 PSI) with consumption varying by model from 60 to 120 litres per minute. An appropriately sized compressor with air filtration and drying equipment is essential for reliable machine operation. We can advise on suitable compressed air systems for your workshop.

Many customers report productivity increases of 300-500% compared to manual edgebanding methods, along with significant improvements in finish quality and reduced material waste.
Absolutely. Our edgebanding machines are designed with dust extraction ports that connect efficiently to standard dust extraction systems. Effective dust extraction is essential for maintaining clean work surfaces, proper adhesive bonding, and optimal air quality. We can advise on suitable extraction capacity for your specific machine configuration.
Adhesive consumption depends on panel sizes, edge banding material thickness, and feed speeds. As a general guide, expect approximately 150-200 grams of adhesive per square metre of edge banded surface with EVA systems. PUR adhesive consumption is typically slightly higher but provides superior bond strength. Laser systems require no glue as the adhesive is already on the tape. Our machines feature precise glue application systems to minimise waste whilst ensuring consistent bonding.
Yes, we offer double-sided edgebanding machines that simultaneously process both long edges of panels in a single pass. This significantly increases productivity for high-volume operations and ensures perfectly matched edges. Double-sided machines are ideal for manufacturers producing large quantities of similar-sized components.
